2000 ELMIRA
New York

Here are photos of the "AEROTOW 2000" from Elmira New York. Once again John Derstine and club members from the Harris Hill L/D R/C club, put on another fantastic event. Flyers from Germany, Canada and all over the US came together for fellowship and good flying. This years event had mixed weather conditions with gusty winds a sunny days, Friday had a 2 hr. spot of rain which cleared and the flying continued into the evening. 65 pilots had plenty of flying, tricky cross winds made landing a bit busy, but all in all things worked out fine. 6 to 7 tugs, mostly the new "Pegasus" had the field in the air with little waiting in the Q.

Once again the dynamic duo from Canada, Erich Eiche and Fred China came with beautify detailed 1:4 models. Erich's "Bowlus Senior Albatross" and Fred's " Karakan" Fred took home all the honors with best Vintage and best "Over ALL" Rick Briggs from California won "Best Modern" with a highly detailed cockpit in his 1:3 Schuler ASH 26.

Our Friends from Germany brought some fantastic ships as well, Ralf Scheifele of EMS had his new "DG 1000", Thomas Schmidt flying his 6.6 meter "Fafinr", and a new visitor this year, Frank Oestes organizer of the "Rodermark" and "Akro Cup" brought his 1:3 one of a kind, "Choucas", built by master builder Arnold Hoffman.
